❓ Frequently asked questions

Does the app require internet?

No. Koch lessons, the virtual key, tone lab, library, exam mode, and atlas work offline. Internet is only needed for optional features such as notifications (Android).

Do I need an account?

No account is required. Your drills, sessions, and settings are stored locally on your device.

How do Koch lessons work?

Characters unlock progressively as you meet accuracy targets. Farnsworth spacing separates character speed from effective speed so you can learn at a comfortable pace.

Can I use a straight key and paddle?

Yes. Switch between straight key and iambic paddle modes in the virtual key screen. Adjust sidetone and debounce in settings.

How do I reset my progress?

Clear app data in your device settings, or reinstall the app. On Android: Settings → Apps → MorseKey Radio Coach → Storage → Clear data.

Notifications are not appearing (Android)

Ensure notifications are enabled: Settings → Apps → MorseKey Radio Coach → Notifications → Allow. On Android 13+, grant permission when prompted on first launch.

How do I request a refund?

Refunds are handled by Google Play or the App Store according to their policies. Contact us if you need help locating your purchase.

🛠 Troubleshooting

1. Update to the latest app version from your store.
2. Restart the app after changing tone or key settings.
3. If audio is silent, check device volume and Do Not Disturb mode.
4. For widget issues (Android), remove and re-add the Daily Morse Drill widget.
5. Still stuck? Email us with screenshots and steps to reproduce.

📦 Information stored on your device

The app saves the following locally to provide its features:

• Lesson progress, Koch unlock level, and character accuracy scores
• Practice session history and streak data
• Custom library entries, word lists, and key layouts you create
• App settings (tone frequency, WPM, key type, theme preferences)
• Onboarding completion state

This data remains on your device unless you clear app storage or uninstall the app.

🔔 Notifications (Android)

If you grant notification permission, the app may receive push tokens to deliver optional study alerts and service messages. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings. We do not use notifications for third-party advertising.

🌐 Information sent to our servers

MorseKey Radio Coach is designed to work offline. We do not operate a user login system. If optional network features are enabled in a future update, we will update this policy and disclose what is transmitted.

When you contact us by email, we receive the information you choose to send (your email address, message content, and any attachments).

👶 Children's privacy

MorseKey Radio Coach is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

🔒 Data retention & deletion

Local training data is kept on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. Support emails are retained only as long as needed to resolve your request.
